Vinegar Flat's Garden at St. Margaret's ShelterSt. Margaret’s Shelter garden grows produce and flowers for use at the shelter and sale at the South Perry St. Farmer’s Market from June through September. It is our second year for the farmer’s market and our fifth year of gardening at our generous community partner’s farm in the Latah Creek neighborhood, just under the freeway bridge that heads west to Seattle. We use natural fertilizers and mulch and our garden space is about 80’ by 160’ and we may be expanding next year, depending on our help. We usually start working in the garden in April, with weekly harvesting starting in June. Our goal with the garden is to provide an opportunity for low-income people to earn income and/or access to fresh, organic produce. Volunteer Opportunities:
